Frequently Asked Questions

What is this place?

MorePix is a service which provides additional photos and images for eBay auctions. Click here to read a note from the developer.

I don't understand any of this. Will I be able to use MorePix?

MorePix can save you time and money if you can answer yes to the following quiz.
? Do you know how to get pictures from your scanner or camera into your PC as jpeg files (files ending with 'jpg') and then find those files using your computer's file manager?
? Do you know how to use the Sell Your Item form at eBay to get your auction listed?
? Do you know how to copy text from one window or page to another? (maybe you have done it before with email such as copy a phrase or paragraph from one email to another? Copy and paste can be done with the mouse or the keyboard. If you need a crash course, click here
That's it! If you know how to do these three things, you can use MorePix right now to get multiple pictures into your eBay auction.

Where will the pictures show in my auction?

Pictures hosted at MorePix can be shown on the auction page or in a new window. (click the button to demonstrate) If you want photos to show in the auction page itself, you'll need to use the code explained on this page.

How do I get the link in my auction?

Create your auction as you normally do. When you auction looks like you want, make sure you change to the 'Enter your own HTML' view on eBays form, then copy and paste in the link displayed here: If your auction is already running, Choose 'revise listing' and add the link as shown.
NOTE! The link used to activate MorePix is the same for all users and for all auctions! Editing is not required.

Everyone uses pop-up blockers now. Won't that block my pictures?

No! Morepix does not use a pop-up window. Your images are shown in an entirely new browser window which will not be blocked by any browser settings The new window does a 'smart' resize when loaded so portions of your auction will remain visible. That may make it look like a pop-up, but it's not. You can test by turning on your own pop-up blocker then using the test link above.

Which do I do first? Start the auction or upload the pictures?

MorePix needs the eBay assigned item numbers before images are uploaded. Start your auction first, then upload the images. You can upload images immediately after the auction starts. (within a few seconds)

If I don't upload the pictures right away, what will my bidders see?

Your bidder will see a message that photos are not yet available and asked to check back later.

I'm still confused. Is there a step by step guide?

Yes, Click here for a simple how to guide.

I never received a welcome email or a bill. Why not?

Because of the spam problem, many ISPs and/or virus programs will prevent email from new senders. You might try changing your email address in the profile to a secondary address. There is not much a server operator can do to 'make' your ISP accept email. As a last resort you can post your problem in the MorePix forum, we'll attempt to contact you using a different mail server.

How does the system know which pictures belong with which auction?

MorePix depends on the protocol used by eBay for displaying auctions. One element of eBay's link method includes the auction number of the item being viewed by your bidder. If eBay changes this method during the course of your auction, the MorePix images may not appear.

Will this work in any auctions other than eBay?

No. The MorePix system currently supports eBay auctions only.

Do I have to edit the link so it will go to my account?

No. The 'smart link' used to activate MorePix is the same for all users and for all auctions! No editing is required. You will identify which auction your pictures are for when you upload them.

Is there a way to make the pictures appear in the same page as my auction?

Yes, The HTML 'object' element may be used to 'pull' photos into your auction. Because this element is not rendered the same by all browsers and because you must set the height and width of the element, we recommend this method for advanced users who are familiar with HTML. This method is explained in the 'links' document on this site. Please Click here for more information.

When should I log in or out?
